1. Being distrustful is different from being cautious 2. Victim blaming is bad lol

No one is saying to trust a stranger. It’s said not to immediately hate them. Can you understand the difference?

That post is specifically talking about decentering men- which is just being woman/self focused rather than being anti men

The post isn’t wrong though. If you talk all day about how much you hate men and can never trust a man, then you’re still making men the center of your conversations. If you’re instantly distrustful of men (not just cautious, as you should be with all people), then you’re applying more mental energy into interactions with men

Not tryna be mean at all, but that's a classic "told you so" Like weren't y'all taught as kids to not trust everyone. If it's not earned, its not trust

True, that’s not what it’s saying though. It’s saying you shouldn’t always be actively thinking about men. If you’re in a situation where you need to completely trust a stranger (which you shouldn’t be in normally anyway), then of course you can choose differently.

You can distrust strangers (although complete distrust would promote antisocial behavior), the post talks specifically about men. Replace men with any other stereotypically prejudiced group and reflect if it’s right to distrust them based on race, immigration status, or gender— even if statistics that are taken out of context and used to characterize entire groups

The problem is op in the comments is arguing that not trusting strangers is paranoia

So I was referring to ops comments where she literally says it’s paranoia to not trust strangers

Then respond to the comment instead of responding to the post that is saying something completely different babes

All signs have a reason behind it. And are you telling me your parents told you to trust every stranger you see? Mines sure didn't
