I don’t think it’s good or bad, women have the ability to ask people out if they want to. I’m not a fan of enforced gender roles. But I think the men who keep saying they’re afraid of SA allegations just from asking people out need to take a hard look at how they go about doing that, because that’s not a normal fear to have in that scenario
No, it’s not. You’re so close to realizing that a LOT of men are not well adjusted people and don’t view/treat women as people deserving of respect. Like 3 and 4 said, if your method of chatting/flirting is getting you reported for sexual harassment or assault, that’s not normal and you need to reevaluate your actions and mindset
Again the people with that mindset aren’t normal and need to reevaluate some things. By mass hysteria do you just mean people caring about SA more than they previously have? That’s a good thing, it’s a serious problem, if you’re afraid you’ll be labeled as a sexual predator you need to dig a bit deeper. False accusations are very rare and even true allegations barely affect the lives of abusers
I never said they all secretly want to assault people, I’m saying they’re probably talking to women in a way that’s disrespectful. If you hear a no or anything that means no just leave without begging for her to change her mind, leave her alone if she’s with friends, don’t stare at people and follow them around while they’re shopping etc
Please stop spamming me if you want to have an actual discussion! I have ocd and anxiety too so I get it. But this is a sign to get therapy for your irrational fears. It’s good that you’ve recognized that these fears are irrational and being reported is not actually something that you should be worried about, the next step is to work on internalizing that, which will take time
Title IX does not just apply to public schools. The law applies to all schools receiving even a single cent of federal funding. As a result, colleges receiving such funding are legally mandated to stop sex-based discrimination. Sexual harassment is a form of sex-based discrimination. Even a one-time asking out can count as sexual harassment if she didn’t want to be asked out.
