Because men never recovered from the expose/document era of the world so no one likes to bother with asking women out because it’s become normal to ‘expose’ men. A lot of them would rather die than make a woman feel uncomfortable like a creep so they just resorted to not dating to not give a chance of it happening.
I’m just sort of sensitive to criticism, like, when I think I did something to make someone uncomfortable. Asking someone out involves that. Think it’s related to ADHD sometimes. Tried it a few times, worked some of those, but when it didn’t no amount of yeses will make up for that feeling.
Because the last several times I’ve asked girls out it has been extremely demoralizing. I was trying to be polite and sincere but the responses I got were always toxic af. It honestly ruined my time out and about, so I just decided I’d rather enjoy my time to do what I want. I’ll face the music about being single later.
I still ask them out. I have a few contexts in which I won't (recent ex of a friend, a place where they're trapped and can't leave (like if it's a cashier or we're at work together), etc.) but other than that, I just ask bc my mom said closed mouths don't get fed. This is why I've consistently dated funny, beautiful, cool women that I'm still friends with. You have to give yourself a chance so she can give you a chance.
Well here might be an answer. Many men are respectful of women and have heard that they want to be left alone, so they leave them alone. The men who are willing to approach women aren’t as respectful of them, therefore they catcall, touch, etc. and since these are the guys women are interacting with the most this is why women think all men are like this. Part of us aren’t willing to go after women at all, part of us are too comfortable going after women, if you will.
Many women have made it clear they don’t want to be interacted with *at all*, and even if they do, you’re still more likely to get harshly rejected than to get a yes. And that’s another thing, it’s so much damn effort. You’ll get rejected dozens of times without a yes, spending lots of time and money you could be putting to more productive things. And one thing for me personally, idk when or where it’s acceptable.
in the same way *some* women have internalized “all men have potential to be dangerous” and move warily in accordance, *some* men have internalized “ All women have the potential to harshly reject me” and move warily in accordance. It’s patriarchal gender role construction and the solution is to start approaching men and when approached, reject men directly and softly (ie a direct no but not rude unless they’re persistent)
You are unfortunately experiencing what it feels like to be a man in dating. The extremist voices of *some* women have “poisoned the well” of the good man’s approach and made it much harder for women such as yourself to find places where good men will approach you. It is a very intersectional issue unfortunately, so age, race, and local sociology also play a factor in your personal experience.
this is true, and if both men and women came together and committed to putting themselves out there more and protecting the people’s feelings that put themselves out there instead of men blaming women and women blaming men for the issues they face, the dating scene would be a lot less insufferable.
Not necessarily, ppl my entire life have told me that im pretty its like the only thing they tell me i also used to be a model. Beauty is also subjective, people might not agree, but when most people u meet in life tell u ur gorgeous including complete strangers, more often than not u are considered attractive.
