As a women, i think what he really misses is the comfort. You were together for two years, thats pretty long time so its gonna be hard to adjust to being single afterwards. This also goes for you as well. He's reducing it down to a hook up bc he's still sexually attracted to you and probably misses the regular stream of sex you were having while in a relationship. However if you continue that it would make it impossible to truly move on
GUYS IT GETS WORSE. HE SAID (over text) PT 1: - “But just remember that NONE of these other college guys you’ll see would’ve stayed with you and been loyal an entire year in the same circumstances.” (He started college, I was a senior in high school, parents wouldn’t let me visit. Also stopped sending him nudes.) - “That’s what you’ll be leaving behind.” (We could be vulnerable, he accepted me for who I was. Which I realize now is bare minimum, and I also filtered so much of myself for him.)
PT 2: - “I was the one that was loyal and loved every version of you for YOU, before you gained your confidence, lost weight, and I inspired you to be better in the first place” (I gained confidence when I realized I didn’t want to keep chasing external validation for my entire young adult life. I lost weight in an unhealthy way, but not because of him because he said he loved me the way I was. I wanted to be better for many reasons, the main one being myself.)
