the orcs of LOTR are a fully fleshed-out, multifaceted metaphor for the cruelty, corruption, perversion of good, and the darkest side of human nature (and more; LOTR has SO many layers 😭). and they compared this to… a race of faceless bad guys. I understand that Frieren couldn’t have possibly established anything close to LOTR, but the fact there was barely even surface level exploration into the topic is wholly disappointing. I hope they get into it in S3, but, so far, we’ve seen no depth.

I love debating people. What I don't love is strawmen or when people argue with something I'm not saying, or when they defend bigotry. I wouldn't block someone for saying "I don't think it's lazy bc xyz", but I'll block someone for trying to say I just don't understand it, as if demons being inherently evil is such a complex idea… like obviously I'm not the one missing the point here Like theres mfs in there telling me it ain't that deep.
