this take is like saying if u watch a show that contains maybe 2-3 sex scenes per season you're a porn addict. we're adults, sex happens in a lot of our lives, hence it happens in books
if you can’t read a book unless it has smut then you’re not a reader, you’re a porn addict idc idcccc

literacy crisis strikes again lol they said if you can’t read a book (like, at all) without sexual content in it, you’re addicted to it

I think he is more of just talking about women who only read smut and dont read it if it doesn’t have it

2-3 sex scenes isn’t too bad, game of thrones exists. But there’s a problem when you’ve got weird sexual shit going on constantly in the books you read.

books containing sex most of the time have maybe 2-5 scenes in them. that doesn't make someone a porn addict just because their stories contain adult content

then u misread the og post. a fair comparison to tv shows would be saying if u can’t watch a tv show without sex in it, your a porn addict, which is slightly valid.

and their take is still stupid, books with sex in it have maybe like 10 pages total out of 400-600+ pages containing scenes with sex. reading that does not equate to being a porn addict??

REQUIRING that as a part of what u will and won’t read (just as the post said) is what makes it weird.

and that's still a weird take. books with sex in them aren't sex scene after sex scene; the sex takes up so little of the actual story??

we're adults, adults have sex in their lives and in relationships. it's not weird to choose adult books that may contain adult themes, as an adult

i understand that it takes up just a little bit. but if you can’t read a book without ANY sex scene then u have a problem

it’s not choosing, it’s REQUIRING and not having the ability to read books WITHOUT

what is so hard for you to understand that there’s a difference between a book with sex in it vs a book that’s pure smut and no plot. or reading a book that happens to have a sex scene vs refusing to read a book unless it’s spicy. I fear it’s not a hard concept

I feel like you’re being a little defensive because #1 is right. If you can’t find interest in a book that doesn’t require sex in it. Then you are a porn addict. It is the same as only watching movies that have sex scenes which is (PORN) maybe soft core porn… but it’s porn. What entices you isn’t the story but the chemistry the characters share in the sheets.

I’m so confused. Your defensiveness suggests you read a lot. But your inability to comprehend what the OP is saying suggests you don’t read. Are you only reading those 10 pages in each book?
