(I mean this as consolation and not in a blaming way) Did you send them any invites or have a formal conversation about it? Like personally I need a legit confirmation otherwise I convince myself something isn’t happening and then it’s out of sight out of mind. Is it possible they’re the same? I’m sorry this happened!!💕

His happened for my sweet 16 and I did send out invitations. It’s so devastating, I’m sorry you had to go through it

this has also happened to every birthday of mine except last year. i had 3 people show up last year that’s the most i’ve ever had. every other year i either have none of my friends show up or i don’t even bother inviting anyone because im always let down. i’m the type of person that goes the extra 100 miles for my friends and the fact they can’t remember such small things for me takes such a mental toll. i don’t want to let this dim my light or stop me from going my extra mile out of love but

This^ sometimes I have a lot going on, and if a plan is made a while ago it might not still be happening. Lots of people plan something and then cancel it. I need a reminder within a few days of an event to know if it's still happening

this is what i'm thinking. if i was told "oh im thinking of having a bday party weekend after my bday" a month in advance and they didn't say anything about it for a month, id assume it wasn't happening and/or forget about the conversation

eventually you run out of miles if you don’t have a single person refilling your tank.

I've never had people over for my birthday, let alone hosting a party... maybe you just don't have the kinds of friends that like big birthdays. I don't think any of my friends have done that.

my birthday party’s aren’t big party’s, it’s a small group of friends and family and we bbq or order pizza and have cake and ice cream. my party had like maybe 15 people there in total. they’ve both definitely gone to bigger parties for their other friends. and i know for a fact if a man had invited her, she would’ve remembered.

Yeah... that's a big party to me. I don't think I even have 15 friends.

it was 6 family members me and 6 family friends that’s not really a lot? it was also a joined birthday party with my sister so 15 for 2 people is extremely small. i’ve known people to have like 50+ people at a grad/birthday party

they’ve also met everyone in that group except 3 people and a baby

I literally celebrate my birthday with my family, no extended family. I have a cake, might get a choice of dinner(usually delivered) and they don't bother me when I decide to play video games
