i feel like i'm missing something, the kid didnt seem to have a bad relationship with either parent & OP tried to help or get her to open up multiple times, and she was at a serious medical risk being pregnant that young without medical supervision & also wanted an abortion. OP was 21 and secretly helping her arrange an abortion was not part of her skillset. it sounds like she ended up getting the abortion. its a shit situation but i don't really blame OP?
I didn’t see the homophobic comments, but the fact that she told some rando that worked at the apt complex blows my fucking mind!! Her poor little sister. Everyone from the big sis to the dad who didn’t want to get involved (wtf is that about?) to the bf’s mom kicking her out for getting pregnant (she didn’t get herself pregnant) are assholes. I sure hate it for the 16 yr old that just wanted a ride to the clinic.
#3 EXACTLY WHAT I'M SAYING. If she needed to tell her mom and it became necessary she could've talked to the sister and walked her through why it was necessary and made her feel like it was safe to do so. As it stands the sister didn't tell her mom likely because she didn't feel safe or comfortable to and she only had that feeling affirmed with that betrayal.
like idk if any of you have a sister who's 5 years younger than you but i actually do, and she's only abt a year younger than OP's sister was. if i found out she was pregnant & wasnt telling anyone, there is NO WORLD in which i hide that from my mom because i know my sister's maturity level and skills in the world and i know my own and that is BEYOND either of our scope as young people. situation is different since my family situation is different but idk i can't blame OP for seeking adult help
like her sister was a child. it's not the same if she was announcing shit abt a legal adult who had it all under control but this was an actively dangerous situation for a 16 year old to handle alone, and OP was not comfortable being the adult in the room. which is honestly reasonable as a 21 year old??
First off I love you completely ignoring that she's also homophobic. Secondly, it doesn't matter her sister's age it was NOT her place to tell. She could've talked to her to try to convince her to talk to mom etc, but it was NOT her news to share. She broke her trust in a fucked up way.
also "it doesn't matter her sisters age" it definitely would if she was 12! because that is a dangerous situation! i love that you care so deeply about the autonomy of young people but the fact is, 16yo wanted an abortion, neither her nor the 21yo were seemingly able to make that happen on their own, 16yo refused repeated attempts to get her to tell someone who could actually help, and had passed out in public already atp.
what if she was experiencing a life threatening complication and OP kept silent to keep her sister's trust, and the the kid fucking died? she NEEDED medical attention, pregnancy is fucking DANGEROUS especially for younger or older women. plus she wanted an abortion & there's honestly only a limited time that's an option to you. even if you think she could have kept it a secret, calling OP a narc. for doing so when she was clearly concerned for her sisters wellbeing is so wild to me.
like at the WORST she made a mistake because she was scared for her sister and still barely an adult. that does not make her evil & i do not understand how intensely yall have accused her of doing so. & even then i honestly think she probably made the right move tbh especially if the sister did end up getting the abortion, which it sounds like she did
No she doesn't. If she cared for her she'd consider her feelings on sharing information that was NOT HERS TO SHARE, the potential harm and safety compromise that could've happened etc. And no, that narcissistic BITCH is evil for betraying her sisters trust and for being a transphobic homophobic pos. Gtfo.
Also you didn't see the homophobic and transphobic thing she said because either yikyak immediately deleted it or she did because she realized how it looked but she said "Oh so you're a man" to which I responded that I'm nonbinary and queer and she called me mentally ill and delusional 🤢
If she was really concerned for her sister, she wouldn’t have gone to the means she did to contact the mom. She told a complete stranger for God’s sakes. She was just trying to block her ability to choose bc she didn’t agree with the choice. If the older sister really cared, she would have supported the little sister in telling her mother. Maybe gone to her mother with the pregnant girl and held her hand as she told her mom. No, the OP was just trying to justify her decision.
