I’m not even talking about miscommunication trope, that’s a whole other beast, I mean like a narrative error that could be fixed by simply having one line that solves all of it. For example, I recently read a story where the sister heavily insisted that her sister cheat on her bf but it made no sense as to why she’d do that considering they’d been together for years. I thought of several small fixes,even just a text to the sister like, “invite the roommate, I want to see if you’re exaggerating.

Gives context that’s she pushing it because she thinks the sister wants it, since it’s implied she’s been mentioning the roommate to the sister Also characterizes the sister as a troublemaker before we ever meet her
