Most great works of literature are awkward and disturbing. ie Cormac McCarthy’s entire body of work. Just write whatever you want and if you’re uncomfortable sharing something then share or submit it for publication anonymously
I only write decent poems from rare inspiration or disturbing vent poems, trying to figure out writing the decent poems more consistently but always blank out on good topics and end up either something awkward or disturbing (unshareable). Any advice?

Other great examples would be Bret Easton Ellis and Donna Tart who deal almost exclusively with extremely off putting subject matter

There’s a difference between uncomfortable subject matter in literature and lists of vulgar words

Also, the inability to use a curse word when needed makes speaking the truth impossible.
