That’s the dumbest offside decision I’ve ever seen. Honduras touched the ball three times before Mexico put it in the back of the net. The phase of play reset. IFAB needs to fix this.

I mean the defender had three opportunities to control it and doesn’t, not to mention the attacker is in no way interfering with his ability to do that. This isn’t what the offside rule is meant to prevent. IFAB needs to fix this. A defender hitting the ball in different directions three different times is a reset in the phase of play.

And the rule is deliberately played not control. They have way too strict of interpretations of what a deliberate play is. One could argue that the defender deliberately played the ball three times, just poorly played it.
