The amount of horrific videos of ICE agents being violent and the general sentiment towards foreigners by a small yet unfortunately loud group is one part. The other has to do with how much more difficult it has become to get a visa to travel here to watch the games which makes it likely to have less people in the stadiums, fifa straight up revoked all tickets for Iranian fans attending the Iran vs Egypt game. Not to mention the prices, if i remember correctly wc tickets at Qatar cost $11
