My World Cup hot takes 1. usmnt shouldn’t have appealed the red card 2. FIFA didn’t rig anything for Argentina 3. The only team FIFA robbed was Croatia 4. England wouldn’t have given Spain a better game 5. Haaland deserves the criticism Pulisic got..

Pulisic was nonexistent the entire tournament. Haaland had one bad game. They are not the same

Haaland made the top scoring record with Norway meanwhile Pulisic did barely anything with the USA.

For coming off in extra time and his attitude surrounding the England game was weird

It’s not about their performances it was about the criticism Pulisic got for leaving the game due to injury. Haaland left the game because he was tired, so he should get as much criticism as Pulisic did for it. Also Haaland saying multiple times before the England game that he expected to lose was odd and similarly people were criticizing Pulisic for being nonchalant in interviews about the World Cup

Where did you see that? Everything I’ve seen was that it was because of heat exhaustion, fatigue, and possibly cramps. And still my point stands even if that’s true because Pulisic was also injured and there were pundits saying they would’ve had to drag them off the field if they were him

Over the last year, Pulisic skips the gold cup to “rest and be better ready for the World Cup” only to be out of form for the last 7 months. Haaland saying he expected to lose is odd though

I don’t think the Pulisic criticism is unwarranted, I just think Haaland deserves similar criticism especially since he did very similar things

You’re brain dead if you believe the smear campaign and bought into the subsequent mass hysteria surrounding Argentina

The rationale for removing their goal was so flimsy. Would’ve been way less controversial to say they didn’t have clear and obvious evidence to overturn it and then send the game to extra time. It’s not like that goal was a game winner

Read my stand alone comment which was a continuation of my last point. It’s specifically about him coming out of the England game and his attitude surrounding that game

Didn’t see it my bad. Pulisic was criticized for trying to be nonchalant after the game and not caring. He complained about being injured. I’m not sure if Haaland the game because he was tired when I saw the post match the pundits were even unsure and thought it was a manager decision. Haaland still performed well during the tournament so he got less criticism. His criticism would be fair if he only got 1 goal.

The manager said he left due to fatigue and Haaland said before the game that he expected England to win, so he also had a weird attitude. Imagine what American media would do if Pulisic said that before the Belgium game! The take had less to do with their performances and more to do with how the “faces” of each team leaving a knockout game down a goal was perceived by the media
