The discourse regarding Arsenal is genuinely so weird to see. I guarantee if this was the other way around, you would see so much outrage on how it’s not been given. Arteta isn’t even wrong, it could’ve easily been given

It’s not a penalty tho, the right call was made and they’re upset about it

There’s knee to knee contact made by Mendes that causes the whole thing. Can be argued it’s initiated outside of the box but there’s definitely a case to be made. Should’ve at least gone to VAR imo. Was waved off too quickly

I didn’t microanalyze the frames the point of contact looked close to the edge of the box 🤷🏻‍♂️ Still stand by my point it should’ve gone to VAR to have a closer look at

You’re telling me if it got an on field review and the call remained you wouldn’t be here still complaining

That’s not the point of the initial comment though. I’m pointing out the disconnect in how situations are treated based on how they affect Arsenal. This is a tangent that you’ve brought on by commenting. Imo a review would lessen complains in general, as then Arsenal fans wouldn’t be slighted by what they perceive as a discrepancy in refereeing

Reviews rarely lessen complains, if we want to view a decision as unfair we will. That’s how people are that’s what arteta did. Your initial comment is centered around an “if” that didn’t happen, I can say “if” this was given as a pen to PSG he’d be up there saying it isn’t. This is useless discourse

Reviews would lessen complains though in the sense that the officials would be explaining their thought process onto how they came to a decision. It’s not gonna get rid of complaints obviously, but it would reduce them. My initial comment isn’t regarding what Arteta said so much as it is the way the general public view anything Arsenal related.
