Idk if this is a hot take or not but I think in order for soccer to grow in the US and for it to become more mainstream in our culture people need to move away from the Premier league and become more invested in their local MLS/USL team

For me to watch MLS…i need it to become competitive, have relegation, and for the teams to press their opponents. There’s no reason why Casemiro, Sergio Busquets can come to this league and play like they were on their prime when their legs gave out in Europe. I have yet to see them being pressured while they have the ball on their feet. There’s a reason why it’s called the retirement league

facts, and it’s starting to happen! i’ve been going to my local MLS team since 2021, our stadium was basically never more than 40% full (maybe 60% on important games), but since the world cup ended our past two home games have looked about 75% capacity!

Soccer is only popular in the US during world cup, besides that it will always die down
