If the goalkeeper guesses 50/50 and sometimes even misses then I can't imagine a reason to ever get the ball off the ground, any shot on goal should go in the majority of the time as long as it's not dead center. Makes me wonder if it's a pressure/nerves thing.

the thing is they rarely guess, they go off of eyes and body language to make a good guess. i would always go side netting with power rather than trying to place it top corner.
