I worked at a fast food place which is easier than a real kitchen and it was pure hell. Would not wish it on my worst enemy

i currently work retail and its not for the weak, literally. i physically lift like 100 or more lbs a day no joke. i also walk like 5 miles a day. its not hard, its just a lot of physical activity. i also worked in food industry for a week before i got let go 5 years ago, and i was on my feet the whole day but i also loved it bc i worked at crumbl and got free cookies out of it.

Rewarding in what way? It’s not the pay, so what is it?

I make $40-50 an hour, I’d say that’s better than most other jobs before graduating

Well I’m a manager, and I get decent pay for a manager, I’m not comfortable but I’m not starving and as a student also, I’m learning some valuable leadership skills.

i hope you know theyre talking about food service... what restaurant pays $40/$50 an hour starting out?? thats more than the average business person makes... how are you making more than someone who works their ass off in business slaving away working 60-80 hour weeks sometimes?? and no im not joking bc i know a friend whos done that

okay but like the actual wage. not including tips. bc i know people tip very well, i have cousins in the same business and they make all of their money on tips. theyre in sacramento CA and the bay area.

I live in Seattle so minimum wage is high, I believe $21.30. My restaurant does automatic 22% gratuity and tip pool so unless it’s extremely slow, I have found that my paychecks average $40-50 an hour.
