Employers would purposely list jobs to see what interest there is months before they even consider even actually needing someone. So a lot of the job ads are fake. It parallels to online dating of all the toxicity where the employee shows commitment but the job isn’t real or have some friend in line to get the job and you don’t have a real chance.

Before in the past they would honor the job offer. Companies today do not honor it anymore. So once the hiring manager finds someone cheaper or with more experience they’ll give them the offer. It’s like ghosting in dating where they find someone and will ghost you. It’s all toxic.

this isn’t some big company either it’s a local nonprofit. this is a real job posting the portal is just down.
