In my experience networking with people in your target industry is a great way to gather intel on the hiring situation at target firms(avoid ghost job postings), get advice, and even referrals (get an internal recruiter’s attention).
If your job isn’t in a regulated or licensed profession, LIE. LIE like a mofo on those applications. We went to college. We are competent to do the job. We will be trained during onboarding anyways. Lie. Use places that have shut down as job experience. Use your friends as job references. Lie to a T and get your money.
