Yea, I don’t see anything wrong with smoking, but then again if you are having family over at ur house, and it smelt like bud/weed, if I was hosting, I’d be pissed. As someone with chronic illness. Strong smells at any place will have me immediately leave esp weed. The habit isn’t bad that you did it, but if it’s her house her rules you gotta kinda abide by them until you leave. You by no means are a bad person, but still, you could try and smoke elsewhere next time.

But you still did zero wrong by just doing it, don’t let your mom make u feel bad, my mom is super fucking narcissistic so I get how parents can be. Just breathe and let her calm down. She’ll come around. Just don’t even bother arguing. It’s like arguing with a fuckin wall you’ll never be right they always have to be right

I mean yeah you should definitely go outside and away from everyone to do it, but assuming you’ve done that, I don’t really see the issue. I treat it the same as cigarettes, I’m not gonna do it in the house, I’m not gonna do it in front of grandma or the little kids, but don’t get mad at me if I walk outside and do it on the side of the house away from the windows.

yeah i went for a walk when i smoked and nobody could smell anything. the only reason she found out is because my dog went crazy when i walked past the window and then my mom smelled it on me. she ended up lying to my family to “protect the peace” because everyone including her have an issue with it. she wanted to “save christmas” so she made me lie about why i was outside. if it was up to me id just be honest bc it’s not that big of a deal, but i understand that it is to my family.

Yeah that's a bit late but I wouldn't give up hope my parents treat my older sister a little differently but they're starting to be more lax with her as well. Just show them that you can be the same person they love no matter what personal choices you make, they're just victims of stigma and propaganda and they're afraid. You're also a victim, pretty much everyone is when the root is stigma, they're afraid you're gonna turn into a demon and you have to deal with it.
