my hot take is that large trucks (3/4 ton, 1 ton, lifted, or wide body) should require a CDL to operate because 80% of y’all can’t drive or park within the lines

Maybe not a cdl but they definitely need something.

larger trucks have a higher fatality rate in crashes than a standard car or smaller truck. like, disproportionately so. they’re huge, they’re heavy, and they have a blocky front, so it is a literal battering ram when they crash into someone. smashes right through them. if they hit a pedestrian because they didn’t see them in the absolutely enormous blind spots they have, that pedestrian is getting a massive head injury, then pulled under the truck and dragged. i think a CDL just makes sense.
