People are downvoting but i totally agree. There should at least be a sign out front warning others that there’s a cat though. Some people are deathly allergic & if the cat isnt there but they buy something, the box can still cause some irritation to their allergy i’d bet bc it walked all over it.

to go off of your point: what about service animals? people can be allergic to the guide dog for the blind man or the cardiac alert dog for the woman with a heart condition, but those people still go into shops. if you have an allergy, it is your job to be due diligent

A service animal is only in there for the time the customer is. If the worker has a service animal, thats a different story and not to mention, they’re hypoallergenic. Not all animals are.

you’re incapable of considering people other than yourself. if i have a really bad cat allergy (i don’t btw) and i go into a store with a cat, im not gonna assume its walked on every item in the store. so i buy something and then get a bad reaction. that’s not an optional problem. it’s completely avoidable by the staff if they cared. don’t justify this by saying “theyre all high so they don’t have to think about the health of their customers”

And it's completely avoidable if you just don't walk into the store. They let you know there's a cat. So if you did have a really bad cat allergy, you'd know not to go in. Idk why you'd go into a store with a cat if you had a severe cat allergy. Also, I never once said "they're all high so they don't have to think about the health of their customers" or anything like that. It seems you're the one incapable of understanding one simple thing: if you're allergic, don't go in!!

do you know this store? how do you know theres a sign that there’s a cat? and ik you didn’t say that but op did and it’s a total cop out. like i said earlier, there’s nothing wrong with a cat being in the store as long as there’s a sign out front. but there’s no reason for the cat to walk on the merchandise. someone with a cat allergy should be able to walk in, buy something and leave. that isn’t gonna cause a reaction, but touching something the cat walked on absolutely can.

Somebody said that in the town this shop is in it’s very common to have shop cats. Also, it’s on their google page and website. Not every shop is gonna kneel to everyone’s needs. Most people who go there like cats, so they keep the cat. It’s no huge franchise. Nothing wrong with people doing what they want with their own stores. I would let my cat wander wherever I wanted if it were my store. If anything it’s more the cat’s space than the customers.
