I love weed a lot but I need to stop. For my health, for upcoming job opportunities after school, that sort of thing. I know it’s not chemically addictive blah blah I’ve been smoking since the start of high school (8 years), I can’t stop. Any tips?

Keep your hands and mouth busy! You get addicted to the routine, whether it’s a chemical factor or not. Humans are habitual creatures.

Yeah melatonin or some kind of sleep aid will be nice too. I didn’t really have any withdrawal except for it makes it harder to fall asleep for a few days after.

Commit. Say what your gonna do it and do it and don’t leave room for excuses or leeway. I recommend a few days of only one hit right before bed because the only thing that can really get disrupted from quitting is sleep. Everything else is just emotions/feelings. Choose a specific day you plan to fully quit so whether you commit to only one hit before bed or not in the days before it, you have to quit on that day. It’ll encourage you to cut in the days leading up which will make it easier

i got this app called quit weed that helped a lot. im almost 4 months off dabs and i still check it every now and then to see my health stats. it tells you where you’re at in your detox and has your reasons for quitting in one place

yeah i have heard trying to replace it with something similar, like how nicotine addicts will pretend to smoke or hold up smth to their mouth. you can also replace it with crackers that you munch on for example

for me it was a mental thing, continuing to say to yourself “i have to quit because it is hurting my mental health” but also when i was getting high it made me anxious & that helped me realize it wasnt good for me anymore so i get if this doesnt help

like the first two days of any break I take have been like “damn I wish I was smoking weed rn” but not like physical withdrawals, and that thought kinda just goes away after a little bit

It’s honestly as bad as my nicotine addiction, I wake up and tell myself “alright no smoking until this afternoon”, then make an excuse to take a dab within 30 mins of telling myself that. No physical withdrawal, but the cravings of just being high are honestly like no other.

Okay so the first step of the break is to run out of weed so you can’t just hit it as soon as you crave it lmao
