 The rumor that Israel helped engineer the surge of migrants into Spain gets a bit too close to some real antisemitic theories. I am going to wait for some substantial proof before accepting it.

If Israel (or any country) wants to engineer a crisis in another country, you should consider the motives, required resources, and feasibility to mobilize resources. Anytime I hear about Israel engineering anything outside of its sphere of interests or influence (outside the ME), I am skeptical because they would need a damn good reason to invest something non-immediate and non-proximate to their geopolitical situation

I really don’t think it’s Israel. Every couple of years or so not to this scale but when ever Spain does something they don’t like or want something from them they release migrants over the border. Spain was in talks with Algeria Moroccos #1 rival so they released migrants as punishment

The (very thin) motive given is that Spain pulled its support from Israel’s military, which might sound like a good reason for Israel to be mad, until you remember that Spanish aid was a fraction of a percent of their total military spending.

If someone cites that as a legitimate motive for the scale of intervention in question, i am calling bullshit for the simple fact that Israel simply doesnt have the resources to spare on such petty changes. As you mentioned, it was only a fraction of aid received, so I just cannot buy that in as a motive in good faith

Like man, Israel is evil, for sure. But Israel is not fucking Shadaloo or HYDRA, they’re not secretly pulling the strings of every single international incident, and acting like they are is indicative of at best simple-mindedness and at worst, base antisemitism.
