Yet. Somehow it is. For people who liked the idea of UBI it seems like yall sure don’t like where it’s coming from… not that I think this should be a regular thing but the government likely owe’s me way more than $5000. I’ll consider it a move in the right direction.

Hey, if this comes from the government, who raises money via taxes? Arnt we just paying ourselves with our money?

It’s supposed to be tariffs but the talk around that has become so convoluted I don’t pretend to know if that’s what’s really happening. Found common ground the other day with another poster that we are both under the impression the economy is largely smoke and mirrors. … they never went into Fort Knox and live-streamed it… What if they did and it was actually just a bunch of Smokey mirrors?!

Tariff refunds were already awarded, so ALL of the money to be made already has at our expense. And ya it it, honestly so many AI companies are just sharing the same money over and over again

You would think their AI would be advising them that wasn’t wise. I know enough people with torches and pitchforks that would start burning down data centers if they keep this bullshit up.

it is literally illegal, by attempting to influence one’s vote via the promise of a monetary exchange, or in other words, purchasing votes. if he gave everyone $5000 right now, and then asked everyone to vote for him, it would still be arguably a violation of the same law but not as direct since, you know, he’s literally saying “vote for me and I’ll give you $5000” (even though he won’t) 18 USC 597
