I live in a blue state gerrymandered to be purple leaning red. We elected a democratic governor, lt governor, attorney general, Secretary of State, etc., and the heavily gerrymandered state legislature responded by rewriting most of the governor’s power over to themselves. For a state that elects democrats to statewide office pretty much all the time (4 of 5 governors in my life have been dems), only 4 of our 14 US representatives are democrats.
