The point is that they’re doing better than us. It’s almost like shareholder wealth maximization capitalism fucks over working people or something, and the metrics by which we measure our quality of life are faulty🤔

The question is “if the UK were a US state” which implies for the sake of this metric we have assumed Britain is part of the United States. So yes your question does say something about the hypothetical where the British are in our country

That’s purely for the sake of comparison. Obviously the actual point has nothing to do with the British actually being a part of our country, so your comment is a bit strange and irrelevant. Kinda honed in on the most unimportant part of the whole post.
