The idea that we should relinquish control of something as basic as our own bodies to the government only works if you can trust your government 100% for your entire life. If that's not an accurate description of your opinion on the current American government then we have bigger fish to fry.
Be for real dude, scientists publish papers to cover all of the details. I personally didn’t trust the covid vaccine due to its age, I didn’t get it. I completely understand your point but majority of vaccines have been around for ages and have tons and tons of research done on them. Doctors aren’t dumb, they wouldn’t all advocate for vaccines if they were bad.
Well I'm not saying we should do away with vaccines, or that it's even a beneficial choice to abstain from them personally. I'm not a doctor and you shouldn't make decisions about your health based on what I say anyways. What I am saying is that bodily autonomy is significantly more important than getting a 100% vaccination rate on a population.
We recently went through a world changing pandemic, and despite there being a large movement against vaccination for the virus causing the pandemic, it has largely calmed down since then. It's far from being necessary to fight disease, and its potential downsides when used by a totalitarian regime are far too risky to implement it regardless.
Well in my uneducated eye, that sounds like an issue of availability. I have no problem with government initiatives to make vaccines more accessible, or even free. I think thats a great way to encourage people to get them without taking away from their freedom of choice. But nowhere in there do I get the conception that we need to make it illegal to not get one. Then your parents would've not only not been immunized, they'd have been convicted of a crime.
