What change did Renee Good try to make? She died not complying with the law because of a legal agency she found unjust. She took personal action. Right wingers will tell you ICE is just and there’s no evidence ICE is an illegitimate agency so you have no right not to comply.

except weird things demonstrably didn’t happen in polling centers. this has been legally adjudicated time and time again. ICE systematically disregards the judiciary. Those two are not comparable.

The 2020 Election has been verified through innumerable different methods. I turned to the courts because they are treated as dispositive finders of fact in many contexts. If you have a specific claim about the 2020 election, then raise it, or stop using it as nonspecific justification.

That’s missing my point. Back when slavery was a global norm, you could understand why people would push back on what they claimed to be their rightful property being stolen from them. In a modern lens, obviously owning people is wrong so we don’t see that as a righteous cause. Only point was that you can’t preach noncompliance with laws/issues you disagree with, and then criticize those who preach noncompliance with laws they disagree with.

The problem with your argument is that while it superficially appears to be consistent, violent insurrection is fundamentally not the same thing as civil disobedience. One obeys the laws of democracy, while the other does not

No I can’t actually, because of people like Thomas Day and Samuel Johnson who both disliked how Washington and Jefferson were “signing the Declaration of Independence with one hand and brandishing a whip with the other” people knew slavery was wrong back them.
