Amtrak has a line between Chicago and Detroit. Seems like upgrading at least part of it to HSR (by American standards) might be feasible from an ownership perspective

I was looking at a trip I’m taking to see if it was cheaper to go by train. The flight is 2 hours. The train would be over 24 hours and costs MORE. Amtrak is BULLSHIT
