how come itโ€™s okay for one side to disagree with the other but the second the other side disagrees theyโ€™re immediately bigoted or ignorant or whatever difference ๐Ÿ‘ of ๐Ÿ‘ opinion ๐Ÿ‘ does ๐Ÿ‘ not ๐Ÿ‘ make ๐Ÿ‘ you ๐Ÿ‘ a ๐Ÿ‘ bigot

If the difference is that some people donโ€™t deserve basic rights or are unfairly blamed for issues, then it damn well might make you one

Disagreeing on taxes is one thing and the oneโ€™s getting called a bigot arenโ€™t being called that for disagreeing taxes. So pray tell what opinion is being discussed that immediately gets met with being called a bigot?

counter argument being a bigot is what makes someone a bigot (which is what youโ€™ve described) not difference of opinion

bigot was just one example i used. thereโ€™s also โ€œignorantโ€ which can apply to taxes or โ€œwhatever elseโ€ which applies toโ€ฆwellโ€ฆwhatever else so im not not talking about anything specific just saying a difference of opinion isnโ€™t enough to qualify someone as being a bigot or whatever not that bigots donโ€™t exist

Big difference between calling someone ignorant in the context of taxes and calling someone a bigot. If youโ€™re saying just having a difference of opinion isnโ€™t enough to qualify calling someone a bigot thatโ€™s fair and for what itโ€™s worth the vast vast vast majority of people agree. But most of the time people are being called a bigot itโ€™s because theyโ€™re sharing an opinion on marginalized communities that are pretty fucking bigoted.

My guess is itโ€™s not just a โ€œdisagreementโ€

i was just speaking generally, thatโ€™s why i used more than just one descriptive term (word count meant i had to cut down and generalise more) iโ€™m certainly not saying that bigots donโ€™t exist all iโ€™m saying is that having a difference of opinion isnโ€™t enough to immediately qualify you as one

not that i think itโ€™s relevant, seeing as i was only speaking generally but id had a conversation in which people were sharing their opinion on the kirk assassination during which i disagreed and got called a variety of different things solely for having a different opinion
