
From a clinical perspective, being fat is pretty bad and is a good predictor of all sorts of chronic diseases (which drive up healthcare costs). That’s not good for patients, and that’s also not good for this country. Obviously everybody deserves to be treated with respect, but this super sensitive snowflake attitude is not helpful. Being fat should not be normalized
Could be splitting hairs here but I do think it’s worth adding that it’s much harder for some folks to loose weight and stay healthy than it is for others, due to lots of things outside of a persons control (healthy food access, income, biology, psychology…etc). But I think we can definitely acknowledge that it’s unhealthy to be overweight while not casting moral judgement on people who struggle with it
