I feel this way about Italian-Americans and how they talk about food too

Lmao that’s true. They’re notably less evil about it than Israelis but they love to steal cuisine

Italians hyping up their cuisine while having absolutely zero concept of what their cuisine was even like pre-New World lmao

Because genuinely what the fuck were those people eating before the discovery of the tomato. I found out ciabatta bread was invented in the fuckin 1990s. What the hell was Italian food even like circa 1400

They had all the ingredients for alfredo but I’m also like 99% sure it was invented in the United States. I love alfredo though it’s hella easy and quick to make from scratch unlike marinara which takes like 4 fucking hours to make from scratch

What’s funnier is most cuisine was completely different 600 years ago. No modern techniques and the potato, tomato, peppers (all truly spicy things), coffee, chocolate, corn weren’t in Europe, Asia, or Africa at all
