One of the things I don’t like about this Iran situation is that we’re clearly displaying our abilities to China. We have so many assets but we absolutely cannot shoot down every missile and drone. Showing so many vulnerabilities rn

China is more concerned with the fact that their air defense systems they sold to Iran have completely failed. This comes after the purge of their generals and watching Russia decimated in Ukraine. Trust me, the Chinese are far more worried than we are

I get what you mean, but our air defenses are failing as well. Neither of them are perfect. Still though, they’re watching how little we can defend things. If we fight China it would be in their turf more than likely, which they hold the advantage & have access to far more munition. Time will tell if we even defend Taiwan

Our air defenses have successfully intercepted more than 90% of what the Iranians have thrown at us. There were always gonna be missiles or drones that got through. The problem is people with no expertise who suddenly decided they understand warfare, who are incapable of recognizing the objective fact that the Iranians are being utterly demolished. We’re doing an incredibly efficient job of defending ourselves, especially given the losses that I expected.

I mean we destroyed their navy and air force within days, wiped out their leadership, destroyed most of their AD capability, they’re losing launchers left and right and missile launches are down like 80% from yesterday. This is an astonishing level of domination.

Yeah Iran is being fuckin slammed, it’s bizarre. I suppose that is true, Iran has fired tons and tons of shit at us & allies. Every time they hit one of our bases, it is a little concerning. Just limits our abilities to do things over there. But we’re so established over there it’s impossible for us to run out of options.

I think the average person’s understanding of conflict is something like “if America has the strongest military, it’s impossible for them to get hit”. Iran is a top 20 military that’s launched hundreds, perhaps more than a thousand strikes the last week. There was no reality in which we wouldn’t take hits. But given their capabilities and decades of preparing for this, I was expecting so much more from them. The only way we can fuck this up now is if Trump’s dumbass pushes for a ground invasion

I agree. I’m hoping the Kurds that we just armed will be able to do something, but I highly doubt it. If the military manages to stay in piece the Kurds will not stand a chance. The IDF is on the ground in Lebanon going after Hezbollah. I really wouldn’t be surprised if we saw troops in Iran. It honestly seems like our embassies & consulates across the Middle East need more marines, but who knows if that’ll happen.
