What caused politics to become so divided by gender and education since the 2000s? Before then, your gender and education level had very little predictive value with your political beliefs

i think you could start predicting votes based on gender and education starting in the 60s

Do you have a source? I’m kinda surprised about this. I assumed the education level trend was there for longer. That being said, Dems used to be a party that the white working class was drawn to. They’ve become more academic now and their messaging and priorities make the white working class feel left out

I mean a lot of my family no longer identifies themselves as Republican because they want no association with what it’s become
