I'm gonna reply under the assumption that you're acting in good faith, and are unware that the 3rd Position is a term used to encompass neofascist thought that emerged in the Cold War. It's a good idea to stop using the term if you actually want to recruit people to your faith who aren't fucking demented.

Maybe 3rd Option would be a better title,(?) yet I do resent the bit on the end that was pointed at my religion. I meant to make a humorous and historical joke on the Palestine – Israel contra.

I'm not saying your faith is demented. I'm saying that people who identify with what is commonly known as the 3rd Position are demented.

“If either side doesn’t eat bacon, not my problem”, seems to have become pretty popular, so the Holy Land can go to neither, instead going to its true original inhabitants, Christians. Due to recent continuous persecution, I nominate the Syrian and Syriac Orthodoxy followed by the Maronite then Ethiopian Orthodoxies.

Who gaf if anyone can claim some weird theocratic claim to a land. Mormons can say they’re the true inheritors of Jesus and say they should own Palestine

Anonymous replying to -> blue__wave 5d

OK, well one of those is a psychological deistic claim and the other is a theological Land claim. Not the same. I think they have a better claim the state of Utah but if they want it, let’s see them try and get it.

Those crimes were committed because of their beliefs. It’s kind of hard to separate them. It’s one of those “I have right until my right violet yours“, then it’s no longer right and in fact, it was a war crime and a crime against humanity. All that is to say, their police are 100% contributed to all of it.

It was their supremacist mindset that led to their crimes. I don’t think being neopagan makes you a supremacist

It is not about legitimacy, but rather about effect. The Mormons or Jehovah’s Witness can deny the divinity of Christ all they want, but that does not make it true, as may Jewish religious figures in 🇮🇱. They would not be in Israel nor would they have a monopoly if they did not have an effective Land claim.

What’s the difference between an effective land claim and legitimacy. I don’t get how you’re defining things here.

🌊
Anonymous replying to -> OP 4d

What gives the christians an effective land claim?

upvote 3 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> blue__wave 4d

It is where Christ was sacrificed. Multiple holy events take place in that holy city, is where Christ will return and is the template for the new heaven and new earth. I will say the Jews have just as much of a claim, especially to the temple. The Muslims, however, had Jerusalem shoehorned into their Quran and other holy works around 200 years after the profitand was a land claim first but the justification second.

🌊
Anonymous replying to -> OP 4d

I feel like my critique still stands that anyone can fabricate some religious claim to a region. Ofc if you follow one religion you’re not gonna agree with the claims of other religions. How would you settle the dispute between Jews and Christian if this is how we’re deciding who gets what land?

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> blue__wave 4d

I don’t so much hear of problems between Christians and Jews in the holy land at least between each other, however, they do have a problem with a certain other religion.

upvote 1 downvote
🌊
Anonymous replying to -> OP 4d

Ofc bc no Christian is seriously staking out a claim to the land.

That would obviously change if there was a real push for Christians to control the land.

No one said anything about them not being there. I assume you’re talking about political control of the region or what the majority demographic should be. We’ve pivoted to so many things in this convo lol

Anonymous replying to -> blue__wave 3d

Ha, yeah, let me clarify: In my ideal (Elmo world as far as I’m concerned), it’d be nice if the ethnic cleansing of Christians across the region could stop. Additionally, it’d be nice if Lebanon was restored to the “Israel for MENA For Christians. I believe this is realistic however unlikely. The restoration of the whole Levant, Anatolia, to Christendom, would be nice. This is unrealistic and unlikely.

The likely scenario is the cleansing of the unbelievers (in the “true” or “proper” Islamic faith) from the whole of Dar-Al-Islam.

🌊
Anonymous replying to -> OP 3d

Ok my understand is that Lebanon has legal protections for Christians but it’s never been a Christian Israel. They’ve divided power institutionally by faith it’s never been fully Christian dominated. That’s part of my previous point that if there was a real push for these ofc Muslim/ Jews would feel differently towards Christians.

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> blue__wave 3d

I don’t know about the second point. Please clarify. As to your first point, no, it has never been a super majority of Christians, however, it was a majority Christian nation, and there were real protections, that worked, there were reserved positions in government for Christians to ensure the Christians would not be dominated, and there was representation from multiple nations, including multiple sects of Christians. With an influx of Palestine “refugees”, there is now Hesballa.

Anonymous replying to -> blue__wave 3d

Is there a multiple other communities across the region obviously persecuted by Christians, independent of a theoretically protected state, such as Lebanon

upvote 1 downvote
🌊
Anonymous replying to -> OP 3d

So that’s what I mean it was never a Christian Israel. You’re saying the demographics and political order of those countries should change. I’m saying if there was a real push for that obviously Muslims and Jews would be against Christian.

When I say no, I mean not some random push for ethnic cleansing or randomlychanging demographics. Demographics really wouldn’t be changing. It would be prevention of demographic change and protection for existing demographics
