Liberals when they get a chance to call an entire country of foreigners orcs and just generally dehumanize them but it’s okay because they’re the bad guys

Dehumanizing people who spread pro-Russian propaganda is fine because they’re usually bots

Nah I don’t think it’s cool to call an entire country of people orcs even if their government is doing awful shit. Like, I don’t deny that Russia is doing bad shit and should’ve never started the war, but I’m also not gonna call them orcs and imply that they’re ethnically predisposed to evil the way these NAFO types do.

No one made any generalizations and no one said anything about ethnic predisposition 😭

brother if you’re calling people orcs that is in fact the implication, or do I need to explain Lord of the Rings to you too?

I’ve never heard someone who wasn’t a NAFO dipshit refer to anyone as an “Orc” in a geopolitical context, and I’ve never seen it applied to anyone but Russians. So yeah, it kinda stinks of some ethnically motivated stuff rather than JUST “I am against the Russian war effort” which I will reiterate, I am also against.

Can you please show me where the word “orc” was used because I’m so confused

I oppose the Israeli government’s policy of genocide towards the Palestinians, but if I started just calling Israelis “Goblins” in every conversation about that, then you’d be right to call my rhetoric antisemitic. The same thing goes for “Orcs” for Russians.

It was in the post I quoted, I think the guy blocked me or maybe deleted the post, so I don’t see it anymore, but it was in the one I made this in response to. It was spelled wrong and said “ork” but it was clearly the same intention.

Yeah, every time I call out the super vocal pro-Ukraine libs for doing just straight up xenophobia against Russians, I always get my throat jumped down thinking I’m pro-Russia when my point is really “we should not dehumanize our political enemies or define entire nations as enemies rather than their governments” which most of these people already agree with, they just make an exception for Russia. Which I think is why that guy blocked me.

I also take issue with how much they invoke Cold War/Red Scare language when Russia simply is not the Soviet Union anymore, and treat the Russian Federation as an extension of the USSR instead of actually looking at the political differences between the modern and Soviet periods in Russia, but that’s a smaller point.

Yeah I completely see what you mean now, my bad. I was literally looking for the word and wasn’t seeing it so I thought I was going insane until the 5th time I read it
