I actually don’t think religious freedom is a good thing. We should just allow massive institutions based on complete nonsense to hold massive social and political power?

More worried about the billions of dollars that Mormons and mega churches receive in tax free “donations” that go straight into their pockets. Social and political power tho, that’s not a unique thing to America and there is no moral way around it

Yes it is. It directly protects religion from state repression. I think we should repress it as it endangers children and indoctrinates people into cult beliefs

Just because the system isn’t being enforced doesn’t mean it’s the wrong system, it means we should enforce it.

The state should be, but that’s entirely different from regulating private individuals

so you believe in the separation of church and state, not the removal of religious freedom, or do you think the government should oppress the population into becoming atheist

Sure, I’m not saying it should be a thought crime lmao, I’m just saying it should be prevented on an institutional level

so you believe in the separation of church and state, not the removal of religious freedom. 2 fundamentally different things

Nope, I don’t believe you should have the freedom to organize churches or teach your children about religion. I think that’s child abuse.

If not being able to indoctrinate your children is “oppression” then yes. But even nations like Japan do that.

Sure, doesn’t mean certain religious beliefs aren’t prohibited from being forced on kids. Though japans laws are still lax in my opinion
