
Even blu ray is pretty cheap if you have big thrift stores in your area. Not as much as dvd, but still reasonable prices. That way you get the content in HD (PS: a well made Blu Ray can look better than streaming services because it’s not reliant on a stable internet connection where the bitrate is variable)
Most gaming systems are based on some sort of disc standard. Old PS2 games were stored on modified DVDs for example, and if you go back to the 90’s there’s games based on modified CDs. So if you have a system that takes discs, there’s a decent chance it can play movies on some sort of format
