ngl i miss what republicans used to be like what we were taught growing up in middle and high school. sure i disagree with them still, but they were easier to like as human beings. wonder if they teach maga or old school republicans to kids now

It’s wild because I looked back and watched some comments from people like bush and his VP and holy shit I was shocked by how similar they sounded to some of the rhetoric we see today, esp towards the Middle East. In my mind, the Republicans seem to be so much more calm years and years ago, but after actually looking at the bullshit, they pedal, tragically I don’t think they’re that much different.

That’s why I like Adam Kinsinger. He just got out of Congress but I do respect him a lot.

some of the rhetoric is the same for sure which is why i still would disagree, but i want the calmness back lol the idea of "small government" has evolved into "fire everyone and deregulate everything", but traditional republicans wouldn't just harshly do that like trump has. they respect institutions and stay quiet on social things bc they believe that is the states job (small fed government)
