well no, preserving slavery was the conservative position, just like democratic was the conservative party. it's why house affiliation matters much less than what you're actually voting for, because a modern day republican voter would not be in favor of freeing slaves in 1861, they'd just be a democratic voter at the time and in favor of slavery.

No. Many southern elites today are directly related to former slave owners and their wealth comes from there. The Union failed at reconstruction bc it never punished those guilty of treason and slavery.

They seem to be the only country in recent history to get a pass for attacking our boats. Killing several sailors on a clearly american vessel that had identified prior to shots fired. Israel is a terrorist state that has weaponized our own laws against us by making it a criminal offense in areas to speak against them
