I mean i get the point but is a little dense to say the US dosent invest in its people when living here is one of the easiest, safest, and generally nice places in the world. Go to Iran and then come back here and tell me the US dosent invest in its people. Also to not have a defense budget is suicide my friend. We spend a fraction of our GDP on defense.
