DHS wants to think so, but it depends. If the federal officer’s conduct was authorized by federal law and it was “necessary and proper” to performing official duties, then the supremacy clause prevents state prosecution. It’s not absolute immunity, but a decent bit

True, but if anything is constant with this admin, it’s that they will challenge or change legal precedents that restrict their ability to impose whatever they want. This just doesn’t sound like a group of people that are going to willingly give up power in 3 years
