… are you an idiot? There being barriers to prevent shoplifting doesn’t mean the shoplifting is objectively happening. Especially when the people claiming it is then go back on it?

I think the news stories over it (especially when they claimed they had to close stores over theft) were overblown, but I don’t see much incentive to install anti-theft devices for no reason. Then you just have employees constantly walking around to unlock stuff like deodorant and shampoo

They objectively were overblown. The companies responsible for shutting down those stores personally admitted they lied
