“The US sunk an Iranian warship that *thought* it was safe in international waters” No, they “thought” they were safe because they were an unarmed ship leaving a military event that India invited both Iran AND THE US to

The ship wasn’t unarmed it had 76 mm auto cannon, 20 and 40mm auto cannons, 4 SSMs(surface to surface missiles), 2 triple torpedo launchers and 4 SAMs

It seems like international law is clear on this. It’s a bit weird that they were still around 10-12 days after the event, but it’s shitty that they had no reason to even expect an attack

Reports I saw say it had no munitions on board (the actual weapons platforms aren’t exactly removable) because of the event they were invited to. It’s possible they had weapons anyway, but again reports are suggesting otherwise

I’m thinking it did. You don’t really remove munitions just for joint training. You might put them in long storage on the ship and not in combat storage but usually it’s not fully removed from the ship I may be wrong though
