US Politics on Sidechat | I wish there was a thing where a person can suggest a law and would need a certain amount of signatures. And then there would be a voting day every 6 months were the public would get to vote on and if it’s 65% majority then it automatically gets passed.

Like vote on the suggested laws with signatures. Or maybe instead of a law make it like a public veto. Like they get to veto something that’s going on since maybe law might not work logistic wise I’m not sure exactly

Yea I like the veto idea a bit more cuz there’s a risk of morons putting in absolutely bs bills and then misinform their way into having it made into law. Lots of bills are pages and pages long and most use jargon the average person doesn’t know. I could easily see someone sneaking language in or misrepresenting what’s written and then get a bunch of people who don’t know any better to vote for it
