Loving the cultural turn about male centered institutions like frats. MeToo pt. 2 looks like it’ll be not just about individual men and more about their institutions and that’s is awesome

Hot take but fraternities themselves are not inherently institutions of rape culture and/or misogyny, it comes down to the individual culture of each chapter and while yes, many many chapters are full of evil men who do and say evil things, generalization is counterproductive and harmful in the long run

History says otherwise. Systemic critique and generalization are NOT the same thing. Nobody's claiming every brother is evil. The point is that the structure itself (exclusive male-run spaces, parties on their turf, hazing, closing ranks when someone's accused, alumni money protecting it all) produces the same outcomes chapter after chapter. "It depends on the chapter" is exactly how institutions dodge accountability.

“many many chapters do and say evil things” yeah, if that culture is kinda expected, then they should be banned. We should expect to have to deal with so much raping and sexual pillaging
