Sort of. Chinese EVs aren’t banned, just tariffed to the point that selling them isn’t technically worth it. The Huawei shit is tricky. I think it can be called a technical “ban” but it’s just so many restrictions that they can’t reasonably function in the US.

The politicians, sure. But not the voters. I don’t yet really understand what drives people hoping for like, a Kamala round two run. She won’t win, man. She can’t win. And not just because America is racist and sexist, which they are, but because Kamala thinks she’s ENTITLED to the presidency. It’s obvious in the way she talks, and acts. what killed our industry was allowing capitalists to offshore manufacturing in China, Vietnam, Mexico, etc. in the first place. literally rusted the steel belt into the rust belt and created an opiate epidemic in its place. we solved our acid rain issue though. a shame we shipped off all of our heavy industry to do so

NAFTA hurt the Midwest, but it didn’t kill the industry. This critique has been made time and time again and most Dems recognize it now. There should have been a quality shift away from those jobs for Midwesterners in those factories instead of being left high and dry. That being said, you’re arguing for the EXACT same thing for wanting Chinese EVs to compete with American EVs. I don’t see you asking for China to move BYD manufacturing plants to the US

But like, mostly they haven’t worked. Mostly they have just been ways for lefties to signal to other lefties that they’re lefties.
