That this got downvoted proves the point. Political science has long been aware of the effects of affective polarization. They warned against social media and their echo chambers for this very reason. People are believing conspiracies with no evidence.
Today, we have people on the right who believe the 2020 election was stolen. Or that the perpetrator of J6 was Antifa. On the left, we have people who believe that the Butler, PA assassination attempt was staged. What happened to rational thinking?

Bush did 9/11. J6 was Antifa. 2020 election was stolen. Pizzagate. Butler, PA and/or Charlie Kirk shootings were staged. COVID as a “bio-weapon.” Obama wasn’t born in the US. All in the last 25 years. We are cooked.

Bush didn’t do 9/11 but the US government could’ve stopped or at least mitigated it, and chose not to, so that the public would be down for the wars they wanted. No inside job, no controlled demolition, but absolutely a cynical political power play. The other ones are all pretty dumb though, I’ll agree with you there.
