I’ve been told by friends that I’m becoming a little condescending towards Trump supporters, “…it’s just their politics, you can agree to disagree”, and I can’t believe that that is an actual sentiment Americans have about their country own rn

it's a difference in morals atp. we can disagree on tax policies, we can't disagree on human rights

But also like, wdym you won’t get your kids the measles vaccine??? Like sometimes talking to a Trump supporter is like watching a guy try to scrape out his food from the toaster with a fork and you’re like “you’re an idiot you’ll hurt yourself” and someone in the room is like “hey stop being so mean, it’s just how they think”

no exactly, atp that's just child abuse. if someone refuses to vaccinate their children against preventable diseases, they shouldn't have children

The sheer amount of cognitive dissonance you need to claim to be pro-life and in the same sentence say that you won’t vaccinate your kids against easily preventable death via well researched diseases is insane to me and it’s so commonplace now

i agree. they don't care about their kids health enough to give them the same opportunities their parents gave them because 9 times out of 10 anti-vaxxer parents were vaccinated by their parents. it's sick

I’ve never read a more perfect analogy tbh, thanks for that lol

There’s a family in my city with a very sick, young child (I believe she needed an organ transplant) and the hospitals all required vaccines prior to the surgery for safety reasons. She will die without this organ. The parents still refused to vaccinate and threw a fit over it, even brought it to the news 😀 like holy shit the fact that that’s not considered child abuse is insane. No idea what ended up happening there.

I do too, I really hope they swallowed their religious pride and got the stupid shot for her. I can’t remember her exact age but she was definitely under 10, so she has no idea what’s going on and obviously can’t advocate for herself :/
